Changelog

New content, game mechanics and tools for making your own worlds.

Latest

October 2026

  • Keep development settings tucked away. The desktop Development section is available only when launched with --dev. Player Cheat tools remain available through their existing setting.

  • Return to Settings and reload reliably. Leaving the Board now finishes closing its scene before releasing shared artwork. Loading a save also retires the old Board before closing its game, preventing renderer failures.

  • See where an item can merge. Optional Simple mode keeps merge targets clear while smoothly dimming unrelated items during a drag, including newly arriving items. Quick grabs and releases reverse the fade without a jump. Enable it independently for each saved game in Settings → Game.

  • Find the right save at a glance. Load opens a dedicated card view for your manual save, autosave and checkpoints, with exact timestamps and clear availability. Return to the paused menu or retry a failed lookup without leaving your current game.

  • Watch new items fly into place. Items produced at chosen positions on the same Board now travel visibly from their source, even when the source disappears during the action.

  • Click to enter. Open your backpack and use unrestricted doorways directly on the Board.

  • Choose your interface language. Play with English, Czech or Simplified Chinese menus and controls.

  • Translate your worlds. Export game text from Studio, fill in Czech or Simplified Chinese translations and import it back. Preview each language on the Board; translations travel with exported projects and playable builds. Missing translations use the original English text.

  • Give your game its own playlists. Create named playlists from your Music library in Studio, then set game actions to switch between them with a smooth crossfade. Your current playlist is kept when you save and load.

  • Customize your game's cursor. Choose Artwork in Studio and click its preview to set the hotspot for every Board cursor, or restore Serakki's built-in artwork. An open hand marks grabbable Items, and a pointing hand marks available direct actions. Large symbols distinguish combining, swapping and blocked drops, while directional arrows guide scrolling at the Board edges. Cursors blend directly between interactions, including when an Item settles after a drag. Item Detail and menu controls show a pointing hand when available and a prohibition symbol when disabled, updating even while the pointer is still. Soft shadows follow every cursor, including custom artwork. A turning hourglass marks running jobs and pending commands on the Board, Item Detail and menu actions, save/load shortcuts, and searching or spawning in the Board’s cheat picker, with its own Artwork override. Holding Shift previews an available recipe action; Ctrl shows a dedicated production-queue cursor before filling the queue, including while another batch is running, updating even without moving the mouse. Released items show the hourglass while their drop is being confirmed. A return arrow marks where clicking outside Item Detail or the Board item picker takes you back to the Board. A single Settings slider lets you shrink or enlarge every Board cursor from 50 to 200%, with an immediate preview and a saved preference shared across your games. Artwork hotspots, shadows and animations scale together, including custom cursor artwork.

0.6.0

October 2026

  • More to discover in Mini. Added new places to explore and new interactions to try.
  • Play and create in your browser. Mini and Serakki now have browser play, account saves and a browser Studio for working on your own projects.
  • Take your creations with you. Studio can save a complete editable project or a playable build to a folder from both browser and desktop. Open exported projects in desktop Studio, or play your builds in the desktop game.
  • Connect with Steam. Steam-enabled desktop builds use your Steam identity and pause the game when you open the Steam overlay.

0.5.2

October 2026

  • Mini gets its own app. The included adventure can now run in a separate, smaller edition alongside the full Serakki game and Studio.
  • Make things happen somewhere else. Recipe outputs can appear in another space, with a chosen drop position. A workshop no longer has to produce everything beside itself.
  • Let distant places matter. Rules can check for items across the whole world, including those in storage or being used in production. What exists in one place can affect what is possible in another.
  • Add light, shadow and color. Give items custom glows or shadows, with controls for color, size, strength and position. Effects follow the items as they move.
  • Try a different layout while you play. Studio’s Board toolbar can apply another template to the current test space immediately, keeping the current play mode.
  • See exactly what goes into your game. Studio shows original artwork and the prepared game image side by side, including dimensions and file sizes. Optimize the game image while keeping the original.

0.5.1

September 2026

  • Items can have an inside. Give an item its own storage space, leave it, and return later with its contents intact. Portals can also remember the place you came from.
  • Build places that can change. Added reusable Board templates for starting layouts and item interiors. Apply a template during play to transform a whole place, with the rest of the world left running.
  • Recipes can do more than make things. Production, item combinations and expiring objects can now move items or send the player somewhere else. Mix effects, rules and chance to create different results from one interaction.
  • Every item needs room. Five logs now means five separate logs on the Board. Stacks are gone, so space for new output and returning tools becomes part of planning your production.
  • Give an item a last act. Set separate work schedules and lifetimes, then choose what an item does when its time or remaining uses run out.
  • An AI assistant can test what you make. Connected desktop tools can arrange a Board, run recipes, advance time and take screenshots. They can also preview and import artwork into the open project.
  • More room for your art. Added a separate gallery for general Images, including usage checks and replacement without breaking references. Item artwork in builds doubled from 256 to 512 pixels for sharper close-ups.

0.5.0

September 2026

  • Keep several places alive at once. Production in other spaces keeps running while you explore, so your workshop can carry on without you watching every job.
  • Experiment with what goes on what. Item combinations are directional: dropping a tool onto a material can do something different from reversing them.
  • Send supplies ahead. Portals can transport items without taking you along. Production brings ingredients to the job and returns borrowed tools afterward.
  • Make a world, then play it. The built-in editor combines items, rules, artwork and audio with a live test Board. Speed up the simulation to try longer recipes, then build a playable game to share.
  • Bring an AI into your workshop. Project tools let a connected assistant inspect and edit items, adjust starting layouts, and work with your notes.
